a : pronounced like the ‘a’ in " car " … sala = ( sah-lah )

e : pronounced like the ‘ai’ in " said " … letto = ( leht-toh )
or like ‘ e ‘ in " lemon " … mela = ( meh-lah )

i : pronounced like the ‘ee’ in " meet " … vino = ( vee-noh )

o : pronounced like the ‘o’ in " not " … posta = ( pos-tah )

u : pronounced like the ‘oo’ in " moon " … cura = ( koo-rah )

c : before ‘e’ and ‘i’ pronounced like the ‘ch’ in " church " … ci = ( chee )
